Photo 212 - July 31

Shades of Autumn. This week has reminded me so much of Indian Summer days at the end of autumn in the US. Crisp cold mornings and sunny warm days (when you are in the sunshine) prompted me to take this photo of the plastic autumn leaves I brought back with me the last time I went to the US.

Sleepiness. In bed reading before drifting off Thursday night and I realised I hadn't taken a photo yet that day!!! Camera is on the night stand so decided to take a photo of the book I was attempting to read. The blurriness of the photo is quite apt, because that is probably how I was seeing the book too as I had to give up reading because I was too tired to keep my eyes open.

Photo 210 - July 29

Architectural reflections. Got outside in the sunshine on Wednesday to work on my photography assignments this week and on the way back to work snapped this picture looking up at the building that is between my office and the river. I liked the way the sunshine and trees in front of the building were reflected in the windows.

Shopping on Tuesday for trip planning. This map is of the first section of the Bibbulmun closest to us, so probably the best place to start planning how to walk it all....we done two and a bit sections out of the 12 on this map.

Left over bean enchiladas. We really miss our favourite Mexican restaurant, so these were my attempt over the weekend to try and recreate the flavour.

Yellagonga Regional Park track view. Beautiful walk around Lake Joondalup today. With all the rain the moss along the track was very green.

Photo 206 - July 25

Grass daisy. Little flower in the grass that got my attention at lunch on Sunday on our walk around Lake Joondalup.

Photo 205 - July 24

Bell Tower. I took this photo on Friday during lunch. Was looking for an interesting view to practice this weeks lesson some more.

Photo 204 - July 23

Depth of Field. Another practice photo.

Photo 203 - July 22

Same view as Tuesday. Was practicing with my camera's optical and digital zoom. Reminded me why I turned off digital zoom.

Photo 202 - July 21

Beautiful rainy day and surprise rainbow outside my window at work on Tuesday.

Photo 201 - July 20

Photography assignment practice. I didn't take any photos on Monday as it was a busy day my first day back at work. But I did read the photo lesson for this week so here is one of the practice photos I took today to make up for my lack of photos this past week.

Photo 200 - July 19

Last day for photo assignment for this past week. Spent a few hours today trying to capture the splash a mini marshmallow makes when it hits hot chocolate. Not sure I had enough light to really even try this, but I was persistent. I took over 160 photos (10 at a time) and only kept 4 that kind of had the look I was after. None were in focus, but I decided to show you this one anyway. I used Photoshop to get rid of a chocolate splatter on the cup but otherwise is pretty much how it looked.

A Day in Bed. Although I took this photo of Jag today this is what we actually ended up doing most of the day yesterday. I crawled back into bed to read a book but kept falling asleep! But that didn't stop me from trying to read a bit more again before falling asleep AGAIN and the pattern repeated itself numerous times throughout the day. What a lovely way to spend a day.

Seed Pod or Tic Tac Pod? These little orange seeds from a tree at the zoo looked a bit like tic tacs at first glance.

Photo 197 - July 16

Winter Warmers. Stocked up on soups when I went shopping on Thursday. Cooler weather makes me crave these yummy flavours.

Photo 196 - July 15

Jag's favourite spot to sleep when I am on the computer or watching TV on the couch upstairs. Hard not to take photos of him when he is this cute.

Photo 195 - July 14

Mt Cooke Morning. This was the first photo I took on our Mt Cooke walk on Tuesday last week. I love the way the sun was reflecting off Sullivan Rock as Mandy was starting to climb up it on our way to Mt Cooke.

Photo 194 - July 13

Lazy Day....love just relaxing and catching up on recorded TV. These are just some of the tapes I need to catchup on.

Photo 193 - July 12

I am a transformer! I can turn a beautiful box of chocolates into an empty box of chocolates in remarkable time!

Photo 192 - July 11

Unexpected sunny afternoon. Another macro mode photo of the flowers on the creeper growing in my garden.

Photo 191 - July 10

Anniversary Day. To wet to really enjoy getting out much so we stayed in with the little man.

Photo 190 - July 9

Still fighting a sore throat on Thursday....

Photo 189 - July 8

Didn't take any photos on Wednesday. The day was hard enough getting through with a sore throat feeling. Took this knife photo on Friday and it could symbolise the sharpness in my throat on Wednesday.

Photo 188 - July 7

Another rather abstract photo. This is of my favourite teapot at work. Pot sits on top of the cup.

Photo 187 - July 6

Abstract photography. Started a new project with Mandy to learn how to take better photographs. The first assignment was to take photos with an abstract look. Here is one of my first attempts. Do you know what it is?

Photo 186 - July 5

The eyes! Just a bit freaky and prehistoric looking. Simmo was the huge estuarine crocodile we saw at the zoo last Sunday. This close-up of his eyes turned out well. So glad there was thick glass between us.

Soup rolls for fundraiser on Monday...

Sunset at work. The short winter days mean seeing skies like this from time to time at the end of the day before going home. A bit of glare off the glass, but the colour was too fabulous not to share.

Photo 183 - July 2

Blue sky reflection. Was beautiful looking out the window at work today and see so much blue sky after so many days of clouds and rain. I liked the reflection of the ferris wheel and construction crane in the building behind us.

Photo 182 - July 1

Pretty and sweet cupcake in honour of another birthday for someone at work.

Photo 181 - June 30

June Eyes. Will miss these beautiful eyes that have been looking out at me from the month of June calendar page.

Wild weather and mommy under the weather makes for a snuggly puppy.

Relaxing together on a lazy Sunday evening.
