Photo 52 - February 22

We celebrated a belated birthday today for Donna. Loved the ice cream cake she made and this contemplative photo just before she blew out the candles turned out pretty neat. Happy Birthday again beautiful girl!

This is my swim lane at the Joondalup Arena pool where I have been doing the swim part of my tri training. Maybe one day, if I keep practicing, I'll be able to move into the Medium lane.

Gary came home early on Friday and by the time I got home this is what I found peaking out of the end of the bed! I LOVE these feet.

Photo 49 - February 19

Again, a photo taken a day too late. This is one of the things I am trying to resist while I am training. Easier to do with milk chocolate. Now if it was dark chocolate I'd be in trouble!

Hearing last night about the death of Mac (Donna's beautiful brown boy) on the weekend really tore me up. I know that our gorgeous four-legged babies won't ever live as long as we will, but it is never an easy experience to go through. Our hearts are with you Donna and Simon!

So today I wanted to take heaps of photos of our little guy. Jag is so VERY camera shy and really hates the flash. So I finally got this shot, catching him in one of his favourite poses, once I turned the flash off. Edited slightly in Photoshop to get rid of some of the yellowness because of lack of light. Blue carpet looks a bit sickly, but at least Jag's colouring looks more natural. I think he was more inclined to actually sit for this photo because I wore him out by taking him on my 4km run tonight.

Have been working very hard this last week and a half with not much time for too much other than "drive to work, 10 hour day, drive home, exercise if I have energy, eat and sleep" and then do it all over again. So time for taking photos is a bit hard to find. So here is a shot of the back of Gary's car when we stopped for petrol tonight. Someone needs to find some time this weekend to give the baby a bath!

Celebrated 10 years at Hudson on the 16th and was given a beautiful watch (that I was able to pick out) by the company to mark the occasion. Although I knew I was getting the watch I didn't really want a big fuss. But they decided to do something anyway and surprised me by everyone interrupting the end of a meeting we were having in the boardrooms with cake and a lovely speech by our GM. I was really touched and speechless!

Photo 45 - February 15

Misty morning...woke up this morning to a beautifully misted morning that was gone within half an hour. I wish I could have also captured the sound of the ocean in this photo. The sound of the waves breaking on the beach was so calming in all the mist first thing.

Valentine's Day. Day of romance and roses. Roses, as beautiful as they are, are not the flower that I find romantic. I've always associated daisies with romance.

Photo 43 - February 13

I didn't take a photo on Friday....I know I am getting bad at ensuring I get at least one each day. This is one I could have taken Friday as I take stock. With the state of the economy and wanting to take a holiday and buy a new car and get a few new things around the house it is all about money and saving. So this is a cute little piggy bank that sits on my desk at home.

Have ridden the train to or from work a few times this week as a result of the odd hours that Gary and I are doing. Where do the trains go once they disappear 'round the bend at Clarkson Station? I think the trains 'sleep' somewhere just north of us for the night.

Photo 42 - February 11

Self Portrait of a Busy Manager.... As you can probably tell by the light (or lack there of), this photo this was taken in the evening, so no natural light to help proper self portrait picture taken. But seeing as I ran out of "oompf" to take any photos once I got home late last night, and with another late one tonight I thought you might like a photo of me to see the new hair colour that I dyed it the other night....I will 'not go gentle into that good night'....must cover signs of age!

Photo 41 - February 10

The view of the ocean I get to see the entire 2nd half of my 4km exercise route around the neighbourhood. We really are lucky living here. Conditions weren't ideal for this photo tonight - I started my run too late - so may have to take another one on the weekend when I do the run in the morning. But I liked the way the sun was peeking through the clouds so took the photo anyway.

Photo 40 - February 9

I bought this gorgeous little pencil case the other day. I loved the bright colours and the fact that it was just made out of zippers. It will make me smile to use it every day.

Photo 39 - February 8

This is a picture of my exhausted feet after training for my triathlon this morning! Thought it was about time to show another picture of me.

Photo 38 - February 7

Opera in the park on Saturday night. It was a fun evening, if just a little chilly. We saw/heard L’elisir d’amore (The Elixir of Love) by Donizetti. It must have had someone with a sense of humour put the subtitles on for this Italian opera, because they kept putting in bits of Aussie slang that were very entertaining. Definitely something I will remember for awhile and an event that was easy on the pocket seeing as it was free.

Photo 37 - February 6

Sigh...another photo not taken on the day it should have been. The concept for this photo was thought of on the right day, but we got home from work to late for the photo to work.

Photo 36 - February 5

Gary suggested the theme for today's photo because the highlight of my day was what I had for dinner :0)

I have to thank Donna for introducing me to chippy sandwiches - can't think of chips now without drooling over the idea of them in super soft white bread with mayo, mustard and ketchup. Yum!

Photo 35 - February 4

This lovely angel was a gift from my very special friend and colleague Dee. Once I got my photos up on the wall above the credenza I could put this in it's place of honour on top of the cabinet. Now to organise the rest of my study...

Photo 34 - February 3

I am getting worse about uploading my photos every day - so I thought I better start adding the date the photo was taken (or should have been taken). This is a "date night" photo of our favourite dinner menu for picnics in bed. But I forgot to take the photo until the morning after....

Photo 33 - February 2

Super Bowl celebration today! We had a lot of fun and took some photos to prove it. This is my favourite out of the 10 timer shots we took at the end of the game.

But this one of Simon with one of our "Terrible Towels" turned out cute too....it was exhausting and hot work twirling those towels around :0)

Photo 32 - February 1

First photo for Feb! To ensure I got photos different to what I can take around the house I decided to go for a bit of a walk today. On my way down to the ocean I walked around all the burned out area in the bushy dunes behind our house to see what damage the fire earlier this year had actually done. Not sure what kind of plant these seed pods were on - need to do some research - but the fire had opened the pods and made for these interesting starfish shapes. I thought they looked pretty neat.

Photo 31 - January 31

Only remembered I wanted to take some photos quite late on Saturday. So here is one of some of the clouds in the late afternoon light. All the thunderstorm clouds stayed to the east of us and lined up quite nicely at the end of the day for this sunset shaded shot taken from my balconey.
